Jake and Kristen: One day, we were sitting by the pool enjoying some delicious rum drinks and reminiscing about how we met. We laughed about how our meeting was chalked up to sheer dumb luck. According to Wikipedia, the phrase "dumb luck" means good fortune which occurs beyond one's control, without regard to one's will, intention, or desired result. We thought this was a perfect description of our chance encounter on that one fateful night. Having consumed one or two (or five) rum drinks at that point in the conversation, we naturally thought that My Rum Luck would be a suitable name for our blog. Soon afterwards, it started raining, we came inside and started the blog, and then it was too late to change our minds. So… now we have to make the best of it. As a result, we decided that each of us would take turns sharing our side of the story of "My Rum Luck."
