Last night we had a little dinner date at City Place in downtown West Palm Beach, so that we could walk around and see all the Christmasy stuff. We had wanted to go last Christmas, being that we were only planning to be in South Florida for one year, but never made it. So now that it's Christmas again and we're still here, we made it a point to go and see some stuff!
City Place is right in the middle of downtown, and is pretty much the only nice part of West Palm Beach (besides the waterfront/Clematis Street, which I'll get to). All the palm trees were wrapped in Christmas lights and there was a big tree in the middle of the square where all the shops and restaurants are. Pretty! :)
After leaving City Place, we drove over to Palm Beach in hopes that we would see some of the ginormous houses all decorated for Christmas. We didn't see much, as most of the houses are hidden from the road and apparently the island of Palm Beach shuts down super early as there wasn't much sign of life. But we did drive by the Breakers, which looked GORGEOUS from the road, and there were a few houses with lit-up palm trees in the front yard. So we headed back over the bridge to the WPB waterfront park area where they have this big sand Christmas tree on display. They do a music and light show something like every half hour, with everything all lit up and choreographed to the music. It had started to rain, so things were pretty empty, plus it was like 9:30, and I think it closes at 10. It was kind of nice not having a lot of people around though, so I was able to get some pictures without people being in the way.
The little park area is at the end of Clematis Street, which is SUPER CUTE and lined with shops/bars/restaurants and such. It was all lit up and so Christmasy!
Merry Christmas! 3 more days!!!

Very cool! Love those lights above the road, that's awesome!!
